FJ: What lead you to creating your company?
EB: For-profit companies asked for our help with their events. We don’t charge the non-profits so we had to start the business so we could have a pay scale for others.

FJ: What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur?
EB: We liked that there was a demand for what we do, and we were and still are, the only ones doing it.

FJ: What is your favorite aspect of being an entrepreneur?
EB: The reward of out-of-the-box ideas, getting a client to have an a-ha moment, a sold-out event.

FJ: What are three of your company’s goals?
EB: Now that we have retired the business we continue to only accept work from existing clients when we are available. With that said we strive to help our clients be independent, to come up with their own ideas and to remain profitable.

FJ: What challenges have you encountered?
EB: Others taking credit for our ideas and our work. As we didn’t ever let this go it is usually correctly in a timely basis.

FJ: What thoughts would you give to others who have similar aspirations?
EB: Get all of your plans down first. For instance, build a website that reflects exactly what you are capable of and experienced in doing. Don’t speak in platitudes.

FJ: What are your responsibilities as the business owner?
EB: To pitch all new clients, follow through and complete every project. It’s our name out there.

FJ: Why will customers stay or do repeat business with you?
EB: Our past successes and excellent feedback.

FJ: How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?
EB: Social media, and actually engaging not just posting. Keeping it consistent, attractive and buy-worthy.

FJ: What is unique about your business?
EB: No one else does what we do. We have a following and have marketed to those people effectively for over 10 years.

FJ: Who inspires you?
EB: My business partner Michael Perlis, my husband Eddie Bushman, my co-host for several non-profit events Marlee Lauffer, my

Brainstorming group and the family that has always supported me and every event I have ever planned: the Hafizis and their publications.

FJ: If you had one piece of advice to someone just starting out, what would it be?
EB: Make sure your business is unique. Selling something everyone else is selling is hard, find something that you do with that business that no one else is offering. Use your voice, not someone else’s.
